Circuit & Stream is an independent technology media publication focused on streaming platforms, smart home devices, consumer electronics, and gaming peripherals. We started in 2019 with a simple belief: tech journalism had become too close to the industry it covers.

We've published over 340 in-depth reviews, been cited by The Verge, Wirecutter, and CNET, and built a loyal readership of 1.2 million monthly visitors — all without taking a single dollar in exchange for coverage.

The Team

Editorial Independence

Our editorial team operates completely separately from any commercial relationships. Advertisers cannot influence review scores, coverage decisions, or editorial tone. If a product is bad, we say so — regardless of who makes it.

Purchasing Policy

All products reviewed on Circuit & Stream are purchased at full retail price using our own funds, unless explicitly noted otherwise. We do not accept free review units from manufacturers as a condition of coverage.

Testing Standards

• Minimum 30 hours of hands-on testing before scoring any product
• Streaming services tested for a minimum of 45 days across multiple devices
• Audio and display products tested with calibrated measurement equipment
• Gaming peripherals benchmarked with standardized latency and accuracy tools
• Smart home devices tested across multiple ecosystems (Matter, Zigbee, Z-Wave)

Scoring System

Our scores are based on a 10-point scale mapped to defined criteria across four categories: Performance, Value, Design & Build, and User Experience. Each category is weighted by product type. A 9.0+ rating indicates a product we actively recommend purchasing.

Affiliate Disclosure

Corrections Policy

If we publish an error in a review, we correct it publicly within 48 hours and note the correction at the top of the relevant article. Scores may be updated post-publication if the product receives a software update that materially changes performance.
